Influential portraits: irving penn

Irving Penn was a famous American photographer. He was born on June 16, 1917 and died on October 7, 2009. Penn was known for his fashion photography. He also only takes portraits of people with plain background. Most of his photos are of fashion photograph so most likely the poses are serious in an appealing way. His first cover was for Vogue magazine and appeared in october 1943.

My group was inspired by all the fashion in his photographs. Also all of his photos where serious as if there was a misery behind it. Most of his photo appeared a lot of hands in the face and we actually took several photos with that same pose. The way took close ups in spired me to take really close pictures of my model. Also the imperfection of the model makes the pictures seem more life like.

The five Rule

Cropped

Original

The photograph on the two little girls with bubbles shows lines and color. The lines on background of the people make the picture seem more alive and with more texture also with more brightness reflecting the people and there faces. Colors the clothing and of the background make the photograph seem more joyful and more bright and gives the viewer a more warm feeling about the photograph. The shapes of the bubbles also give the picture a more playful vibe to it.

Canon Camera review

http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-cameras/canon-eos-70d-with/4505-6501_7-35811197.html

Canon 70D

Canon 70D is one of the fasted camera out there today. It has low-light JPEG shots look okay up to about ISO 1600, beyond that it depends upon scene content, you lose a lot of shadow and highlight detail if you leave the Picture Style on Auto, though. The dynamic range doesn't seem especially wide, without a lot of recoverable highlight data in the raw files and shadows that are difficult to bring up without introducing noise. JPEG runs past 30 shots at a rate of 7fps; raw shooting slowed down after about six shots during testing, but in practice it sustained reasonably fast seven-shot bursts of raw+JPEG with Servo AI focus. That's pretty good for a prosumer mode. The focus on the camera is ultra forced.

Yosemite and photograghy

                                                POSTED ON DEC 17
Q-Pop Laval, a Central Valley photographer, started photographing Yosemite nearly 100 years ago. How did he make money? Did Yosemite pay him?
1.Pop Laval made money by photographing many different places including Yosemite. He was paid to photograph Yosemite. Who makes the most interesting photographs of Yosemite now? How are the images created? Are photographers paid to photograph Yosemite? If you were photographing Yosemite, what would you do? What would you want to do?
    2.   Gary Hart makes some very interesting photographs now. Gary is an experienced and happy trainer and guide who conducts photo workshops. Photographers are not paid to photograph Yosemite unless it involves something professional like for example he was paid to do so and other weren't. If I were to photograph Yosemite i would focus on the nature and the beauty of it and commuting to it.

Photo Booth Project

 Color pencil

I choose the pencil filter because I feel as if this filter attaches my faces affect and angles and catches the line on my face.
 Mirror

The Mirror affect makes the picture double the better because its double the picture. Not only that but makes you catch the defects on both sides of the picture.

 Pop Art

The Pop art picture filter makes the picture fun and free. I feel that with this filter it makes the picture more enjoyable.
 Glow

The glow filter  I feel that kind hind that imperfection on my face with its blurry and softens the picture.

 Black & White
The black and white filter makes the picture seem more vintage and more older with a bigger meaning to it behind the lends

frist assignment

The lighting in the out doors was very bright and it reflected  on one of my group members  shirts and so the brightness of her shirt made her hole outfit and face frame in good ways. Also highlighted her skin color.
